It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year

Awww... FoCoMX. What can I say about you that most people don't already know? You truly are the most wonderful time of the year. It's no wonder the local musicians call you FoCoMX-Mas.  No one sleeps for at least the week before - bands are perfecting their set, volunteers are furiously working on last minute details and music lovers from all over are scouring through your program guide to figure out their schedules.  We wait all year to see you, to feel you and to experience you and then the weekend is finally upon us. There is an electric excitement that rolls through the city when you arrive. Of course there has to be when you put so much talent into such a short time span.  250 different local acts performing at 25 local businesses - some established and some new, some full time and some occasional but all coming together to create something special for our community.  A gift that we can treasure and support year round; created by local musicians for local musicians that has turned into so much more. Thank you FoCoMX for helping us celebrate how much local music means to us.

FoCoMX is presented by the Fort Collins Musicians Association as a weekend dedicated to celebrating local music in Northern Colorado. This year's festival will take place on Friday April 23 and Saturday April 24th at various locations in Old Town Fort Collins and will feature an all local lineup of music. For more information, including a full schedule, ticket sales & volunteer opportunities - please visit FoCoMX.org

Matt Skinner - Texas Troubadour Charms Fort Collins

It's not often that a Texas boy can come in and steal the hearts of Coloradoans, but singer songwriter Matt Skinner does just that with his witty charm.  (It probably doesn't hurt that his voice is often compared to another Texas show stopper, Willie Nelson.) He is a true storyteller that captures the listener's attention with smart lyrics and funny antics.  He blends country, blues and roots rock seamlessly and wins over every audience with his natural stage presence and easy nature. We're super excited to welcome Fort Collins's own Matt Skinner to our Concerts at the Armory on Saturday March 19th with Mandolin Orange. Check out his video below and get ready to get down!

Rebecca Folsom - Vocal Power!

It's not often a voice can leave you speechless, but when Colorado's own Rebecca Folsom opens her mouth; she commands your attention.  Not only is her 4 octave vocal range enough to wow, but her amazing songwriting paired with a sweet soul captures her audience from her first song to her last.  Rebecca writes from the heart; lovingly crafting each tune with sincere emotion that connects to her crowd.  Performing world-wide and touring with an extensive schedule, we are lucky to have her in our local music scene and even luckier to have her perform in Fort Collins! Rebecca Folsom will be here on March 3rd as part of our Concerts at the Armory with the equally talented Karla Bonoff.  Get a sneak peak of her in the studio performing Colorado below and get excited for the show!!

Megan Burtt - A Star in Our Scene

Megan Burtt has been a rising star in the Colorado scene after making a splash at the 2010 Rocky Mountain Folks Fest winning Songwriter of the Year honors.  She received her degree from the prestigious Berklee School of Music in Boston, so you better believe she has the pedigree to go with the natural born talent. Her music is honest and raw, polished and accessible. She's a world traveler and knows how to tell her stories in a way that draw crowds and critics to her sound.  Riding high from the acclaim of her studio album The Bargain, which was released in the Fall of 2015, Megan Burtt is a must see! And now is your chance to see her in action when we welcome her to our Concerts at the Armory on February 26th with Brett Dennen. Watch her performance at Red Rocks last summer with the Colorado Symphony (below) and get excited for this amazing show!!

Moors & McCumber - Match Made in Musical Heaven

James Moors and Kort McCumber are household names in the Colorado music scene.  They each have recognition as accomplished singer-songwriters with a solid fan base, but it was when they 2 joined forces ten years ago that they blew the door wide open to much larger audience.  The duo found what was missing in their solo projects, which ended up being each other.  Moors & McCumber have established themselves as a musical tour de force on a national scale with fierce lyrics, soaring harmonies and skilled instrumentalists.  We are thrilled to welcome them to our Concerts at the Armory with Tall Heights on January 30th.  Check out the video below and get excited for the show!
