One of Fort Collins favorite hip hop groups have been spreading their sound to the farthest corners of the USA this summer. Wasteland Hop have spent the better part of the last month touring extensively through Alaska. Why Alaska you might ask? Why not?!? Just kidding. There actually is a good reason and story in there. Front man Mickey Kenny hails from the 49th state. His parents actually set up a homestead in Hope during the early 1970s. After convincing his band mates to travel there a few summers ago, they all fell in love with the landscape and the people and have returned every few months to play to packed houses in every city along the way.
Seriously, how many bands get a view like this while on tour? Wasteland Hop will be returning home to Colorado just in time to play on the Linden St Stage for Bohemian Nights at NewWestFest. You can see them at 2:15 PM on Saturday August 16th. In the meantime, you can follow their adventures on the road by checking their Facebook page located HERE. In the meantime, check out their newest video for Motion Rolling.
