Growing up in Fort Collins, singer songwriter Katie Herzig received an acoustic guitar from her father during her senior year of high school at Rocky Mountain. This prompted her expansive musical career that has led to some serious cred. After a string of bands during her college days at CU, she began work as a solo artist in 2004. Although she may not be a household name, her music has probably been in your household. One of the most successful commercial artists to come out of Fort Collins, her songs are featured on numerous television shows; including Grey's Anatomy, Pretty Little Liars, One Tree Hill, Cougar Town, Bones, Bored to Death, Drop Dead Diva, Target commercials, a trailer for Saving Mr. Banks, and more. Her song Heaven's My Home was nominated for the Best Country Performance Grammy in 2007 and she went on tour as support for the Fray. Katie Herzig is returning to her hometown as part of Bohemian Nights at NewWestFest and we're super excited to have her included in the city and the festival's big celebrations this year (Happy 150 FoCo and Happy 10 BoNi!!) See Katie do her thing on the Mountain Ave Stage on Saturday at 6:45 PM.
