It is with a heavy heart that we share the passing of Johnny Ray Allen. He died this past Friday in New Orleans at the age of 56. Known as the original bass player of the Subdudes, he wrote and performed with the band from their humble beginnings in the early 1980s until they broke up in 1996. The group reunited the original lineup just this year and have had a string of sold out shows across the country. They are scheduled to perform this Saturday as part of Bohemian Nights at NewWestFest. The band released a statement that the show will go on and although details are uncertain at this time, they are planning to have their performance be a special remembrance in his honor. Please keep Johnny Ray's family and friends in your thoughts.
