Big Head Todd and the Monsters - Colorado's Original Rock Stars

Growing up as a musician in Colorado, there are two things in particular that you aspire to do for as long as you can remember.  The first is to play Red Rocks and the second is the strive to be like Big Head Todd and the Monsters.  And if you are a Columbine High School student (I'm Class of '95 oh yeah!), the second is even more ingrained.  I'm sure that every pep rally and assembly featured at least one song from our famous alumni's albums.  They were pretty much the sound track of our youth.  They were one of the first Colorado bands to sign a record deal, they collaborated with an incredible amount of respected musicians, and they toured non stop putting the Colorado music scene on the national map.  All the while, they stayed humble and responsible.  No tales of debauchery or drug filled tirades in their history.  Just out promoting sustainability and alternative energy.  And since they will be our Friday night headliners for this year's Bohemian Nights at NewWestFest, I find myself digging through my Big Head Todd and the Monsters library and reliving some of my very favorite songs.  Did I really forget how much I love this music?!? So I wanted to share some of my favorites, in video form, and hope you will enjoy this walk down memory lane as much as I did.  And don't forget to bring your lighters (or your smart phone with the Zippo app) to Mountain Ave Stage tomorrow night at 8:30 PM for the Big Head Todd and the Monsters set.
