Michael Kirkpatrick - Troubadour at the Armory

We hear that word thrown around a lot, but what exactly is a troubadour? Technically it's a musician or performer who is a lyrical poet or someone who can tell stories through their art. In Fort Collins we like to call him Michael Kirkpatrick.  I'm sure that every one of you have crossed paths with this mustachioed minstrel at one time or another. He and his music have been part of the charm of our town for over a decade. He writes music that means something to him. He's passionate about what he's singing and in turn he's able to connect with his audience like few artists can do. He makes you feel something and he makes you care.
Widely known as the front guy for The Holler!, he's no stranger to the stage but he is newly known as a solo artist to the masses. His songwriting skills were honored at last year's Telluride Bluegrass Festival where he was earned the Telluride Troubadour Award.  We're super proud to call him one of our own and we're excited to showcase him at our next Concerts at the Armory show on Tuesday June 9th with Shelby Lynne. If you've haven't been to an Armory Show yet, let me highly recommend that you do. The sound is exquisite, the room is beautiful, the show is very intimate and audiences walk away with a feeling of something special. Because truly it is special.

Shelby Lynne and Michael Kirkpatrick's performances mark the fourth concert of 2015 in the Bohemian Nights Presents Concerts at the Armory series. Each concert pairs a local Colorado artist with a nationally-known artist for an intimate performance in Fort Collins’ historic Armory building. Doors open at 6 p.m., and the concert begins at 7 p.m. The venue accommodates approximately 180 in cabaret-style seating, and the concert is open to all ages. Light snacks and beverages will be available for purchase. Tickets are $30 and available for purchase online at www.bohemiannights.org/purchase-tickets. For concert information, call (970) 472-7656.
