Chris Daniels and the Kings - Colorado Legends at TNL Tonight!

Oh my! How's this for a #Throwback Thursday?!? Chris Daniels and the Kings are one of the longest running bands in Colorado history. The group formed in 1984, over 30 years ago (just to put that in perspective).  Blending their signature sound of bluesy-funky-R&B, the band has toured the US and Europe extensively through the years.  They've also backed up some of the best artists in the business; including The Platters, Bonnie Raitt and Percy Sledge.  Although the band has done some amazing things as a group and are such a dynamic force to be reckoned with, frontman Chris Daniels is the man behind the scenes that keeps pushing them forward.

Chris took our local scene by storm.  Garnering attention in the 70s as a member of Magic Music, the very first jam band in Colorado (now that is a huge feat!!), he's since gone on to be one of the most highly regarded musicians in the state.  His always charismatic charm is just one of the things that keep his fans enthralled.  That combined with his positive outlook have been a lifeline for many folks.  When diagnosed with cancer in 2010, he fought his battle with grace and in true Chris Daniels form, he wrote an album entitled Better Days to help others who are facing their own hardships.  Since his remission, Chris has been nominated for a Grammy for his work on the children's album Jumpin' Jazz Kids and he's been inducted into the Colorado Music Hall of Fame.  In addition to his musical career, he's currently a professor at the University of Colorado Denver in the music business program.

Chris Daniels and the Kings are true living legends in the Colorado Music Scene.  We are so excited to have them perform tonight as part of our Bohemian Nights Presents Thursday Nights Live.  Make sure to get yourself down to our new stage located at 354 Walnut Street in Old Town from 7:00 - 9:00 PM.  This is one band you don't want to miss!
