Hooked on Southern Speed - H.O.S.S.

One of the first local bands I remember seeing in Fort Collins was H.O.S.S. I was a student at CSU and we randomly ended up in Old Town.  I definitely wasn't old enough to drink which was probably why we were at the Starlight.  They used to have awesome video games and an air hockey table way back in the day.  Oh yeah.  Anyway, as soon as the band hit the stage, air hockey was the farthest thing from my mind.  It was fast, it was in your face, it was unapologetic.  I was hooked.  I didn't realize at the time that I literally was hooked (on southern speed!) I'm really terrible with the puns. It was H.O.S.S. that blew me away.  For a long time, whenever I thought about local music, I thought about that band.

Hooked on Southern Speed (H.O.S.S.) is one of the longest running groups in town.  They've been playing together since 1995, which is like 100 years in band lives.  It's so hard to keep it going that long, but they have and they haven't lost any energy at all.  Fans expect a rowdy good time at a H.O.S.S. show and Tommy Ray and crew do not disappoint.  They'll be bringing their signature style of crushing hard rock to Linden St stage on Sunday August 17th at 3:45 PM as part of this year's Bohemian Nights at NewWestFest
