Is it seriously August?!? Summer has flown by, which means we're only a couple of weeks out from Bohemian Nights at NewWestFest. For the past few years, the Friday night of the festival has taken on it's own tradition known as Fort Collins Friday where our city's finest acts are showcased. Kicking off the Mountain Ave Stage this year at 5 PM will be local pop punk faves Shatterproof. The group got their start in 2009 when members were area high school classmates. They quickly garnered the attention of music critics not only in the city but across the state, receiving radio play and write ups along the front range. Their talent was raw, but their musicianship and stage presence have always been far beyond their years. As we've watched these guys grow up in our music scene, we've also had a chance to see them reach new goals as a band. They have won countless battle of the bands, performed to packed houses, and recorded some amazing music. Oh and did I mention they played the Denver leg of the Van's Warped Tour this past weekend? The sky's the limit for Shatterproof and we're definitely excited to see what the future holds for them. Make sure to stop by for their set so you can say you saw them way back when...
