I'm speaking from experience. In the last year, the Burroughs have become one of my very favorite bands to see live. The Greeley based soul infused R&B act just keeps getting better. How is that even possible?!? I only ask because I thought they were legitimately the best live show I had seen in eons, only for them to outdo themselves every time I saw them again. Packing a punch that you aren't expecting, front man Johnny Burroughs is like a better local version of Justin Timberlake. Yes, I just said that out loud. The dude can dance, he can sing, and he can work the crowd. Backed by an incredible band that includes a full horn section and a slew of other monster players from the UNC Jazz Department, this band delivers. The Burroughs will be gracing the Old Town Square Stage for Bohemian Nights at NewWestFest on Saturday August 16th. They hit at 4:40 PM so make sure to get yourself downtown for this one.
